What a Wild Weekend!

As many of you know I have been on vacation this last week and had four really intense days filled from activity from the crack of dawn until the wee hours of the morning. One of the days was spent at Fairchild AFB for Skyfest 2010. The B-2 was just amazing, the P-51/B-25 flight was so cool to see and HEAR! the B-25 was the only remaining D model still in the air and the pilot was only one of three women currently rated in the B-25. The mock dog fight between the Mig-17 and F-86 was so much fun and the differnce in just all out brute force between the F-86 and the F-4 Phantom was eye opening. Of course the Thunderbirds were all they always were. There was so much more to see than we got photos of unfortunately. Now I did not have my camera, but my dad did get some shots on his little pocket digital I thought I would share what came out.

B-1B from Ellsworth

One of two F-18s at the party...The close up is of the call sign - made everyone laugh...

F-15 from Oregon ANG was in the house representing

And the only one with a MIG KILL!!!

Buff had a pretty cool callsign of its own!

F-86, Mig-17, and A-26 prepping for their joint demo

Classic Warbirds Section

Quite possibly the loudest airplane to horsepower ratio I ever heard! Made your teeth hurt.

F-4 was way to fast to get a good shot - was really fun to see one in the air again and feel the thunder from its J79s

A-10 flew in a formation with the F-4 and the P-51 which was very, very cool. You could hear the P-51 even over the jets...

Gem I found hiding in one of the many hangers full of displays...

For Stanger

Sorry guys I wish I would have had my Canon SLR on the trip...

Very nice Wrench! I LOVE going to airshows!!

I don't even try any more to take pictures of the flying action. I figure with two or three clicks of the mouse, I can find a picture a hundred times better on the internet. I just sit back and enjoy the show. :)

About that plane that was so loud it made your teeth hurt, that is a BT-13, made by Vultee. Maybe that is why they called it the "Vultee Vibrator"!! :lmao:

When I was still a member of PCAM Museum in Santa Rosa, CA. there was a guy that had one of those that always flew the air show and it would simply ROCK  the show line with that wicked sound! Damn props tips were constantly breaking the sound barrier - at least that's what the announcer always said. Impressive nonetheless!!:rockon::rockon:

Hey Wrench, I believe that one of our Cranes is in Missoula as of yesterday. I think they are assigned to a fire up there in your neck of the woods.

Have not seen a crane yet, but the Neptunes are getting a work out.

I will keep an eye out.
